How Wide Is A Closet Shelf

Menorca canoe. Talleres y ponencias. V Jornadas

navigation Completed come the days of the workshops and presentations.
This year the speakers would be responsible for showing in detail how to handle a GPS (Xavi Kirchner), to test our skills in a kayak agility test (Javier Knorr), to show us a bit of the beauty of Tierra del Fuego (Paul Kommer) and to prove to everyone that today is up to us different sports practice even when we have a disability (Antonio de Diego).

Of course, these days have time to do a little of everything! Paul for example, might try the "Clockwork Orange")

Apparently
and what I said, I went to sea as well with this kayak:) I hope soon to have one! ;)

the first day of this stage of the conference, is dedicated to the practice of various techniques: Support, rescues, Eskimo ... Javier Knorr took the lead on this day:)

Here a picture of Mariona and the group in general ...

At the end of the session, were watching the waves, some could not resist and we are left to surf a little. Roberto was the case, Quim and mine.
us entertained while we're late to the meal. In Can Bernat of course! :)
In the food had something to celebrate involving one of the speakers. Xavier Kirchner had a birthday!

The cake, of necessity, had to take a kayak! :) That fits pretty orange color:)

In this same food reappeared the desire that the group had to do me a hair implant ....

This is a photo of before:)

And this ... of later! The spirit of Jimmy Hendrix took me at times! ;)

I must say that this change my alopecia hair for anything in the world! It's a hassle to carry so much hair, once accustomed to mosquitoes without brake slip polished my head:)

The next day was going to be very different depending on who ...
For the group, the day would be full of evidence of "agility" proposed Javier Knorr. Here's an enlightening video of those tests ...

For Andrew and me, tourist visit to the hospital in Mahon. Andrew did not improve enough in just browsing. Had to do a thorough review. In the hospital we were all morning and much of the afternoon. Andrew did a very good side in this situation;)

nights we spent at the conference. This year the two they had were in Es Mercadal. Few pictures I have of this time. Here a snapshot of where we can see Roberto, Andrew, Carl and Paul Kommer.

In his lecture we saw a video with historical footage of Raid Yacht Tierra del Fuego. This year, in early November, reaching its 20th edition! You can see details on website Raid Tierra del Fuego Nautical and blog Raid .

then a snapshot of the two keynote speakers of the conference: Paul Kommer and Antonio de Diego, just before it started its conference last ...

The same day was the drawing for a kayak Wilderness Tempest 165. Is the graceful? The Kirchner Xavi lucky!

From early morning to heavy rain accompanied us in Es Grau Mahon. This beautiful photo of Andrew Koch gives proof of this ...

With that, some chose to go to the other end of the island to do some sightseeing. Get escape the rain:) and we enjoyed the visit to Ciutadella and from the southern beaches of the island and Macarelleta Macarella ...

last day arrives. We expected a walk in the natural port of Mahon. A trip that also met a number of Minorcan who did not participate in the conference. This was the case with Oswaldo and Fina ...

Indeed! They carry a fantastic model Sipre Ocean. A very seaworthy double kayak.

In this tour through the port Quim could try the "Clockwork Orange." At that moment I could not imagine that a few days later embark on her to accompany Carles, Sarah Outen and Justine Curgenven in crossing the canal de Menorca, Son Xoriguer departing from and arriving at Cala Mesquida Mallorca after nine hours of paddling ... intense at times. Quim Bravo! :)

The days come to an end. This year we have been forty participants .... Andrés
these days and telling me that the lobby Buenos Aires, Patagonia grow in number next year. Dani keeps saying it again next year ...

We'll see. Sure.

Here I post the latest photographic sequence of these days ...

photos and videos, as always, courtesy of Carro Fede, Andrew Koch, Ignacio Fernández, Ramón Lorca, Manuel Marti and myself!

I have wanted to return to the sea for a few days ...
And it will be! :) In a couple of days comment on details of my next trip;)

A hug to everyone!

Menorca Kayak. Day 6. V Jornadas

wake. As always, at about seven o'clock. Some have stayed doing
bivouac cover. The porch of the beach hut
protects us from the tremendous moisture that falls every night.
Sound a fish tank has been with us all night .... and other sounds seem to have accompanied us! lol!

sleep next to me Andrew, Carlos, Paco, Fernando and Ignacio. Carles
wake up fast. He joined and quickly set to "ant mode" and not to do things from one place to another. Andrew on the other hand, opens one eye. Closes. Then open the other eye and close it again. "Andréeeeeeeeessss! Come rriba pa!" you spit ... Andrés
not react at the time but shortly after he joined. His eyes reflected surprise. And something else.
Andrew puts his hands into his eyes. He stands up and sits down again, everything turns around, it is not able to stand.
Paul, Agnes, Fernando, everyone looks to be interested in him and help him. Fortunately, we have a doctor in the group! Vicente! Tweety! :) It looks at first.

The discomfort will last for several days. The pleasure of these days is over for Andrew, at least for now ...

Meanwhile, reinforcements arrive from Es Grau. They come with trailers and some other van to carry all the material to our base of operations: Es Grau!

In short we have everything ready to go to Es Grau.

Some will go to Es Grau in the few places available in cars or vans. Others make a trip by bus from Mahon and Ciutadella to go there to pick them up ...

At lunchtime, missed, inevitable and unavoidable in the sanctuary of Es Grau Gourmet: Can Bernat!

Here are a few enjoy a delicious John Dory ... along with other delicacies. Rosa, seeing the delicious desperdiciábamos head piece about 3 kilos bug that got us, we are a demonstration of how to speed up as it should be a good fish. The days are not enough to go throwing food! It gives us a lesson over one:)

At this point in the conference, the camaraderie is infinite. The smiles marked with fire ...

Time is scrambled. The east wind is noted in Es Grau but does not become annoying. At the same time, and more specifically Catalunya Gironina coast, is suffering a huge raised.

We just eat and let down your food! Carles, Teresa and Javier suggest a visit to some ruins near Talayotic Es Grau. Toca walk a good time! In just over an hour and a half we reached our destination. And again, the photographers get batteries!

Here Jessica and Paco Ramon. Jessica had joined the group on the last day of sailing. A wrist injury kept him from joining us by sea and by land was following us. In the photo, Jessica with a background Agnes and Menorquina Taula representatives from ancient times the island ...

The Taula seems tiny eh? But if we put a little something that will help us to benchmark ... Quim! For example! :)

seems that these "Taulas" did not use to eat:) are a tad large ...
Some people used to rest a little bit too. Fede Teresa and chat a little while Ana is captured by one of the many photographers ...

Vincent and Paco continued their love affair. Not separate at all these two! :)

The truth is that both have a certain respect "Talaiótico" truth? ;)

Back to Es Grau and we came upon a beautiful tree, of a certain age, 500 or 1000 years or so. A tree well deserves a big hug:)

But you have to go back! That we do at night! :)
Rather ... we did at night:)

Bonito Es Grau at this time right? :) As more beautiful it is when we are all in Can Bernat killing beers around! :)

With this and a cake until tomorrow at eight:)

The photos, as always, courtesy of Manuel Marti, Ignacio Fernandez Carro Fede, Andrew Koch, Ramón Lorca and myself ...

Apa! Until tomorrow! :)

Menorca canoe. Day 5. V Jornadas

placid morning shows.
moisture soak it all, more than any of the past days. Algaiarencs
awake with a heavy mist ...

Gradually we are put in place.

Views forecasts, it seems that today is our last day of sailing. Easterly storm looming scary. The following days, on the Catalan coast and Levantine suffer the consequences with rainfall reached 200 wooded l/m2 and sea waves will be more than eight meters in the Gulf of Rosas.

Our final destination is close. Probably can not beat the Artrutx out, the southeastern tip of the island, peeeeeeeeeeero! to us there is a beautiful stretch of to enjoy! :)

Also today is the day Sergi we say goodbye. Arriving at Cala Morell leave the group to put forward to Sort! where he will begin his course of monitor canoeing. Sergi luck!

Before getting in the water, we decided to make the group photo. Each year that passes costs more to put them all in a photo!

I reminded the group photo of the first days ... Phew! That feeling that year too! Blog in Menorca in the find kayak!

We, we are going to water it now
At first we have to enjoy the great walls of Morell ...

... and also some caves ...

... and some other bridge ...

Indeed! Can anyone tell me how is called this bridge? Let's see who shows me! :)

reach Cala Morell in just over an hour ...

Sergi Here we said goodbye. More than one can not contain her excitement, including the very Sergi:) It seems these days in the facebook, it's going well muuuuuuuuy Sort ... Sergi luck!

We must continue the road to Punta Nati ...

Once past the lighthouse Nati, we started to sail south. We continue to enjoy some beautiful caves ...

... and came at last to the flagship Pont d'en Gil ...

From here to Cales Piques, our stop for lunch at least half an hour ...

Photographers Group
not stop for a moment!

After a good meal and a huge dose of stress to the owner of the bar on the bay that we out of stock of beer, we head to our final destination: Cala Blanca . On the way to Cala Blanca will have to cross the mouth of the port of Ciutadella. Just at the time of crossing, we will have a pleasant encounter with a beautiful sailing vessel!: The Atlantis of Amsterdam.

Once past the entrance, put the direct route to Cala Blanca. Once there, the TV in the Balearics was devoted to taking some pictures and capture some impressions ...

mate Paul does not even released in interviews!

Then ... falls would be our last night in these days of sailing. Of course, cenorrio in style at the bar on the bay!

And do not miss the cup. Tell that to Paco Ignacio and Andrew ...

From here ... minds stopped thinking about sailing ... work and thought about something more playful and artistic ... Today would be the first day they tried to get hair ...

The truth is that I have nothing bad ... :) The tips should handle it a little ... but ... :)
