Utila is one of the three main islands that make up the island department of the Bay Islands of Honduras and one of its four municipalities. It is located only 30 km from the northern coast of Honduras. has 49.3 km ² in area, 11 km long and 4 km at its widest point.
The second largest reef chain in the world extends through the Bay Islands where marine life is rich and plentiful, this combined with crystal clear water and visibility up to 500 m, Utila makes one of the best dive sites.
